“Our Coming Savior” Sermon Series

Begins Nov. 29th
Advent is the spiritual season leading up to Christmas. In additions to all the trapping of the season, the most important preparation for Christmas is the preparation of our hearts. Join us Nov. 29th – Dec. 24th as we discover the greatest story of them all with fresh eyes and prepare for “Our Coming Savior”.

Deck the Halls

Plan to stay after worship on Nov. 29th to help Deck the Halls. This is a fun time for kids and families to help decorate the church for Christmas. We will gather in the sanctuary, break into teams, spend about one hour decorating, then gather at 1:15 to welcome the Christmas season with a couple of carols. Snacks to hold you over to a late lunch provided. Nursery provided.

“One Small Child” Christmas Chorale Celebration

Sunday, December 6th at 6 PM in the Sanctuary
Dessert social to follow in the Large Fellowship Hall

Celebrate the birth of our King this Christmas with One Small Child, a poignant Christmas musical from one of church music’s favorite arrangers, Tom Fettke. Borrowing from the rich history of Christian music, One Small Child renews classic songs like “When Her Eyes Are on the Child” and “This Child Is,” and also introduces powerful new songs such as “King Jesus Is His Name.”

Children’s Celebration of Christmas

Saturday, December 12th
Children’s Celebration of Christmas is an outreach mission that benefits needy families in our community by providing a turkey dinner, visit & photo with Santa, a Christian Christmas program, gifts, stockings filled with goodies and boxes of non-perishable food items.

How you can get involved:

  • Pick up a grocery sack with a shopping list attached and bring it back filled with the items by December 6th
  • Donate non-perishable food items by December 6th; bins will be in the lobby
  • Sponsor a child by donating cash, check (with Children’s Celebration in the memo line) or online HERE
  • Volunteer to help: look for sign ups beginning November 22nd

Mission Dinner

We need an additional 4-5 youth to help with the mission dinner. On November 17, the Nicaragua Mission Team will be hosting a dinner and auction in the gym. We need a team of youth to be servers for this mission’s dinner. The youth would dress nice for the event and wait on tables while people are eating. This is an excellent way for youth to volunteer and participate in an amazing event that will raise money for an international mission. Message/reply if your student is interested.

Christmas Reverse Progressive Dinner

On December 13, the youth will have a Christmas party in which we will do a reverse progressive dinner. We will eat three courses: dessert, main course, and appetizer in that order. The youth will gather at the church at 6p and then split into two groups (middle school and high school) to travel to their first stop at a family’s home where they will have dessert. The group will stay at that house for about thirty minutes and then travel to their second stop at a family’s house where they will have the main course. After thirty minutes or so, the two groups will come back together at the church for a gift exchange, games, and appetizers. I have setup a form where you can let us know how you can help and in what way you are interested in assisting. Please follow this link to volunteer.

Resurrection 2016

On January 22-24, we will travel to Pigeon Forge, TN for Resurrection 2016. At this massive youth conference, students will hear from amazing guest speakers and worship with incredible Christian bands (Chris Tomlin) as they engage with thousands of other students. Be on the lookout for upcoming information about Resurrection. Cost will be around $100 per person.

Fall Retreat

The Youth Fall Retreat was incredible this past week! So many lives were changed and our group came together in a way that was amazing to see. So worth the trip. Thank you for praying for these teens and their experiences this weekend.
