Wednesday Night Men’s Group
This Small Group is facilitated by Eric Pinkston.  Simply come as you are, any Wednesday that we are having programming – it is an ongoing and open class.  The group studies various lessons and materials designed for men to easily connect to and find relevant in the Christian walk.  It’s open discussion and accountability.  They meet in the last room on the left of the Adult Classroom hall – from 6:45pm (or as soon as the dishes from dinner have been washed) till 7:45pm.  For more information contact Eric at 423-314-7608 or at pinkston@catt.com

Christian: It’s Not What You Think
by Andy Stanley
Ask 100 people that question and you are likely to get 100 different answers.
One reason people have such difficulty defining what a Christian should be is that the Bible never gives a definition. The followers of Jesus did not defer to themselves as Christians, it was a label placed on them from the outside.
The early believers called themselves disciples, and the Bible is very clear in defining what a disciple looks like. Jesus gave his disciples one word that should define them. What if we as his followers embodied this one word? What if our behavior was so consistent with this word that folks around us were drawn to us—and to God?
During this study, we will be discussing:
• What one word should be descriptive of every disciple.
• How Jesus’ followers should treat those who are outside the faith.
• Why people love Jesus but can’t stand his followers. The Study will be facilitated by Doug Franks

Financial Peace University
Did you know that 7 out of 10 of us are living paycheck to paycheck? That’s why we are offering Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University class here at Ringgold UMC. The Class has been revamped and it is now 9 week long, 90 minute class.
It’s the most practical stuff out there and the most fun you’ll ever have learning about money.
The 9 week program helps people dump debt, get control of their money, and learn new behaviors around money that are founded on commitment and accountability. FPU teaches us how to handle money according to biblical principles.
In each 90 minute weekly session, we will  watch an entertaining lesson on DVD and then engage in an active small-group discussion. Together, we will walk through Dave’s Seven Baby Steps toward Financial Peace.
The average family pays off $5300 in debt and saves $2700 in the first 90 days!
Financial Peace University will be offered here at Ringgold UMC on Wednesday evenings from February 6th thru April 17th from 6:15-7:45 PM.
The class will be facilitated by Rev. John and Beth Purrington. email John at john_p@ringgoldumc.org or call at 423-463-2390.

A Music Class for Kids: Praise & Play

Praise and Play is a music and play time for children ages 1 – 4 on Wednesday evenings when our Evening Programming is happening (although the summer is spotty – so you might want to contact Evonne before attending). Beginning time is 6:30 PM and class will run 30 – 45 minutes (depends on attention span and tiredness level of the kids). We will sing, dance, play instruments and maybe even read a story. Mommies and/or daddies are welcome and some are needed to help keep the children safe and involved. Come join the fun in The Small Fellowship Hall (just off the kitchen/gym) as we praise Jesus and learn about rhythm and song! Evonne Hackett is leading the class.  Ask Evonne if you need more info: evonnehackett@charter.net
