no vacation from faith…

An e-Note from Pastor Chris Summer is here! Well, officially it starts next Tuesday, but certainly with the recent heat, it feels it has already arrived with gusto! Kara and I so look forward to the summer every year. It’s her favorite season. Pool time, sunbathing, BBQs and of course various trips and adventures, even those at home for “stay-cations.” I want to encourage you NOT to take a break from your faith this summer. We all need changes of…

What Would You Put In This Subject Line?

An e-Note for Pastor Chris How about some celebrations? We had 11 people take our membership class Sunday night! We had 17 different teenagers participate in youth ministries this last week! We’ve had 20 new “household” (some families, some individuals) visit with us since the start of the new year! And our goal of 100 sponsored Haiti kids from our partner-mission “Friends of Momance,” stands currently at 94 (already 10 more than last year)! The next membership class will be sometime this summer. If you’re ready to take this 90 minute class…

“Our father” – Mother’s Day – easter attendance

An e-Note from Pastor Chris I want to invite you to the start of a new theme in worship that over the next three weeks that will focus on the three requests we make in the Lord’s Prayer:Give us this day our daily bread;Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;Lead us, not unto temptation but deliver us from evil. When Jesus gave his disciples this model prayer he undoubtedly expected it to be repeated and learned…

The Final Moments of Lent are upon us

An e-Note from Pastor Chris Dear Sisters and Brothers, Today is Maundy Thursday, this evening we commemorate the Lord’s commandment / commissioning of the sacrament of Holy Communion. (That’s what “Maundy” means.) “Do this,” he said, “in remembrance of me.” We will join together in this sacrament this evening; the service starts at 6:30pm. If you can’t make it in person, join us online www.ringgoldumc.TV. (By the way, always remember you can experience our worship service online one of three…

Don’t give up (& Please be patient)

An e-Note from Pastor Chris Don’t give up on your Lent journey. At this point some of you may be frustrated (or disappointed) in your hopes for Lent, that is in what you wanted to do or the habits you wanted to form (or break).  I want to encourage you. Remember, any change, any growth, any attempt is a positive step. Don’t give up. There are a couple weeks still left and these could be the ones that matter the most!…

Take a Guess . . .

An eNote from Pastor Chris Dear Sisters and Brothers, Take a guess, what was special about last Sunday? The beginning of Lent? Well yes, but… We actually just had the best attended [in-person] weekend of worship yet (not counting Easter/Christmas Eve). There were 122 people in Traditional worship and 113 people in Contemporary.  Another 84 joined us online for Traditional and another 42 joined online for Contemporary. (I’m really appreciative of our ongoing online faith-community.) We had 30 children in-person for “Wiggle…

Happy Lent?

An e-Note from Pastor Chris When I came into the office this morning, Karen and I started discussing how people don’t know what to wish us as Christians on Ash Wednesday… “Happy Ash Wednesday”?… “Happy Lent”? People are so use to special days being that of celebration that we don’t have appropriate gestures for when it isn’t. Nonetheless, I’m somewhat still “happy” to be on the Lenten journey together with you. Attached at the bottom of this email is a…

We ARE Being RENEWED!

An e-Note from Chris Commitment Sunday was great! We had great participation, in person and online, great responses and it is leading to even more. Watch COMMITMENT SUNDAY:Traditional Service Contemporary Service In fact, for the last four weeks, Contemporary in-person attendance has been up by 25% over the previous quarter’s average! Traditional in-person attendance remains steady and Traditional online attendance is very strong. An e-Note from Pastor Chris Let’s BE RENEWED together! This Sunday is Commitment Sunday. You’re invited. We’ll have some doughnuts and other treats as well as extra coffee as we expect and am prayerful about good, in-person (as well as online) attendance.  There were a few obstacles in getting our final bulk mailing out, which included a Generosity Toolkit and a Commitment Card. We were hoping you would receive them mid-to-late this week. I’ve attached a digital version of both to this email.(Please scroll…
