Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: My child likes several of the workshop choices. Will they be able to change activities each night?

A: Since this clinic-style camp is designed to build upon skills throughout the week, it is best if your child chooses one workshop to focus on for all 4 nights of instruction.  Should your child find they are unhappy with the area in which they chose to participate, you can request a change to another workshop for the remainder of the nights.  Only one change in workshop is permitted.  Please be aware that there are limited spots in some workshops, and space may not be available for a requested change.

Q: Do parents stay with their children for the activities?

A: Parents are welcome to remain with their child and follow them through the course of the evening.  However, you may drop your child off and return to pick them up at the end.  Just remember the following:  Please make sure your child is always checked in each evening.  We need to make sure we have your contact information in case of an emergency.  We will give you a pick-up ticket that you will need to give to your child’s coach to pick up your child.

Q: What happened to PeeWee League for Pre-K students?

A: In order to allow Pre-K students (those entering 4 year old Pre-K this fall) to better enjoy LifeSport, we are allowing them to register into some specific workshops this year. Arts and Crafts, Baseball, Cheerleading, Dance and Soccer workshops are open to Pre-K students. They will be able to participate in their chosen activity with age-appropriate coaching. All children registered to participate need to be able to take care of bathroom needs independently.

Q: Can my child bring a friend?

A: Yes!  We encourage your child to bring a friend!!  In fact, if they bring a friend they will have the opportunity to fill out a form to be entered to win a prize!  Please just make sure your child’s friend is registered AND checked in the night they come.  You will receive a pick-up ticket for this child as well.

Q: What if I am late to pick up my child?

A: If you are not to your child’s workshop by 8:10 then their coaches will bring them to the RHS Cafeteria to be picked up.

Q: What if I have multiple children in different workshops?  How do I pick them all up by 8:10?

A: We have a complimentary pick up assistance.  You are eligible for this service if you have more than 3 workshops to go to pick up children.  Look for a table in the RHS Cafeteria to sign up for this service as you are checking your children in.  If your children are picked up with pick up assistance then you will pick ALL of them up in the RHS cafeteria at 8:00.  If you choose to use this service, your child will be picked up by a trained volunteer from their workshop between 7:50 and 8:00.

Q: Will Life Sport still take place if there is inclement weather?

A: Yes!  We want to continue to have fun, and we have a good plan for inclement weather.   We take inclement weather very seriously and highly value your child’s safety, so all workshops will take place inside in order to have a safe and easily accessible place to take shelter during a tornado warning.  Check in would occur as normal.  During check in you will be told where to pick up your child.

Q: How will I receive information about the event once I am registered?

A: Once you are registered you will receive important information and details regarding the event through e-mail.  You will also receive information through texts, if you have given us your cell phone provider during registration.  During the Life Sport event we will be communicating changes due to weather, etc. primarily through texts.

Q: Who should I contact if I need more information or have more questions?

A: You can contact Britta Alton, the Director of Children’s Ministry at Ringgold United Methodist Church.  britta@ringgoldumc.org
