Taylor is the Director of Choral Activities and Traditional Worship at Ringgold UMC. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2017 along with licensure to teach K-12 music in the state of Tennessee.
Taylor is currently working toward post-graduate certification in the Kodály Method of Music Education (which focuses on the study, celebration, and teaching of musical concepts through the medium traditional folksong), has studied song-leading with Alice Parker, and intends to earn his Master of Music in Choral Conducting within the next few years.
The RUMC Choral Activities Mission Statement begins with, “Our mission is to joyfully connect people to God and one another through His gift of music,” and every church service, rehearsal, conversation, and song sung is planned through that lens.
“If you know the melody, sing the melody.
If you know the harmony, sing the harmony.
If you don’t know either, sing something; we’re all in this together!”
