CROCK POT COOK OFF

Jamie Smith
It’s time for everyone’s favorite Sunday event in February—the Super Bowl. Except, that’s not our favorite Sunday event at RUMC. I know what you’re all really looking forward to is the Crock Pot Cook Off!

I’m pleased to announce that we will be having our 3rd Annual Crock Pot Cook Off on Sunday, February 9th at 12 noon. This will follow a combined celebration worship service at 11 am. The Crock Pot Cook Off is a great time to fellowship with other members of our congregation while you sample some great food made by your friends.

The Cook Off is also a fundraiser hosted by our youth to raise money for our youth scholarship fund which allows ALL students to participate in trips and events without worrying about finances. You can participate in the fundraiser by donating money to “vote” for your favorite dishes. The pot that raises the most money will receive a prize. We’ll also have prizes for the dish that’s eaten the fastest and the dish the youth like the best.

Come to this fun event and taste lots of great dishes! You can also sign up to bring your own dish to share. Please see the event in the app for more information and to sign up your dish.

Christ's Chapel

Marty McGee
Christ’s Chapel Annual Fundraiser will be on Sunday February 23rd!

Christ’s Chapel Share and Care Mission is a non-profit organization with the mission to provide food & clothing to support Catoosa County residents.

It is also an important part of our Faith Works program.

The 2023 food drive collected about 850 LBS of canned goods. Last year’s fundraiser was strictly monetary, no heavy lifting, very successful, and total donations allowed Christ’s Chapel to buy over 16,000 LBS of food.

Our goal for this once-a-year ask is $2,400. Just mark your check or digital donation “Christ’s Chapel”.

Look for more information on February 16th or contact Marty McGee at marty@ringgoldumc.org.

NEW-ZUMBA DANCE AND DEVOTION CLASS

Portia Knowles
Zumba dance and devotion class began January 7, 2025. We begin with a devotion and end with a time to voice concerns and take prayer requests. The Zumba portion lasts about 50 minutes. This is a medium intensity class suitable for all ages and ability levels. Zumba/Dance is made up of mostly Latin music, with many other dance styles included. Some of the genres used are:  Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Bachata, Dembow, Cha Cha, Pop, and many others. If you prefer, you can do this class sitting down.  Zumba is a fun cardio workout which requires no experience. I hear many people say they aren’t coordinated enough to do Zumba. I say yes you can. No judgment. Zumba is for everyone. Come join the fellowship and fun.

Classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00 am in the multi-Purpose Room.

There is no charge. A donation box is available if you would like to donate to NCIC (Nourishing Children in Catoosa).

Many in the group are staying for the fitness class that meets at 10:00, right after Zumba.

Call me if you have any questions at 423-413-7391.

Come join the party!
