CELEBRATING GOD'S FAITHFULNESS THROUGH YOUR SUPPORT
Belinda Crisman
Friends of Momance is overjoyed to share that 100% of our 9th grade students passed the Haitian government exam! This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication of our students and teachers, and it is also a testimony to the faithful support of partners like Ringgold United Methodist Church.
Ringgold UMC has been part of this story from the very beginning—helping build the very first two classrooms in 2013 and continuing to walk alongside our friends in Haiti with mission trips, prayers, sponsorships, and financial support. Because of this faithful partnership, the school has grown grade by grade, year by year, until now we celebrate this incredible milestone with our very first class of government-exam graduates.
As the 9th year is the highest level offered at our school, their success represents the strength of the entire program you helped to start. Passing the government exam opens doors of opportunity for these students and affirms that the investment being made in their education is bearing lasting fruit.
Thank you Ringgold United Methodist for your vision, your faithfulness, and your generosity over these twelve years. You are not only shaping the lives of students in Momance—you are building a legacy for families and the future of the community. Together, we see the truth of Galatians 6:9: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Because of your faithfulness, this harvest is real, and the lives of these young people are forever changed.

KIDS CREATIVE CRAZE
Kirsten Lankford
I am excited to announce a new Wednesday night program for our kids! This program will be a four week rotation of activities. The first week of the month will be music, the second will be art, the third will be cooking, and the fourth will be sports/games. I will send out a schedule each month of the specific activities we will be doing each week. Creative Craze will be each Wednesday from 6pm to 7:30pm. We will gather on the playground or Wiggle Room (depending on the weather) for the first 15 minutes, do our special activity for the evening, eat snack during a devotion, then end the night with a little free time out on the playground or in the Wiggle Room (again, depending on the weather). I want to challenge all of the families with kids in the church to think of at least one friend to invite to one of these special activities! Maybe one of your child’s friends really likes art, or one of your child’s friends really likes music. We would love to have them join us! I would also like to throw it out there that we would love to have any special guests lead an activity. If you would be interested in leading an activity one night, please reach out to me at kirsten@ringgoldumc.org.
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
David Cott
Bring your pets, your livestock, and your whole family! We will be celebrating our animal friends and asking for God’s blessing on them. Join us on Sunday, October 19th, at 3:00 pm at our Nashville Street parking lot for a short service and blessing. All animals are welcome, but we do require them to be leashed, kenneled, or otherwise restrained. In case of rain, there will be a drive-through blessing under our Spark Street portico.
TRUNK OR TREAT
Kirsten Lankford
Join us for a fun evening of candy, costumes, food, and decorated trunks! Our annual Trunk or Treat will be Sunday, October 26, 5-7pm. This is an all hands on deck event, so make sure to sign up to serve using the app! Our goal is to have 30 trunks, and we’ll need help setting up, welcoming people, serving food, supervising the inflatables, and cleaning up. We will also collect candy throughout the month of October. You can drop off any candy in the labeled boxes in either lobbies. We had so many people show up last year that we had to make multiple trips to the store for more candy! We would love to see you there!
OCTOBER 49ERS
Helen Young
Cooler weather is on its way, but that does not stop RUMC 49er’s from meeting for fellowship and good food. We will meet October 14th at 6 pm in RUMC Gym.
Pastor David Cott will be our guest speaker and will lead an exciting workshop session. He writes, “What could be more fun than planning your own funeral? Come to 49er’s to find out why preplanning the celebration of your life is not only a wonderful gift to your loved ones, but also a fun way to spend an evening with your 49er family! You don’t need to bring anything except maybe a few favorite hymns or scriptures.”
You won’t want to miss this meeting. Fried chicken will be provided. Please bring a side dish or dessert.

FOOTBALL, FELLOWSHIP, & OUTREACH
Sally Ensley
Make your plans to join us for a time of fellowship and outreach at the Ringgold High School football game on Friday night, October 17th. We will be meeting before the game to tailgate and root on the Tigers! Help is needed to begin setting-up around 4:00pm so we will be ready to start greeting fans by 5:00pm. We will be giving away free hotdogs and will have football tattoos for the children. We’ll also bring our corn-hole boards and offer folks a chance to fellowship before going into the game. This is a great outreach event as we get out of our church walls and show our support for our community. It is also Homecoming night, so we are expecting a big crowd. Be sure to check the app if you can help but even if you can’t help, we would love for you to join us for a great time of being together!
COMMUNITY SING
Kirsten Lankford
Everyone of us has been given a voice, so that means that we are all meant to sing! Singing together in community is such an important tradition! We would love to invite you to join us in a Community Sing on Sunday evening, November 9, at 5pm. A Community Sing is exactly what it sounds like- a bunch of people get together to sing! Fun fact- this is how Taylor and I first met! We have a mutual friend named Sarah Tullock who leads these events, so we asked her to come to our church to do one! Sarah is an elementary music teacher, composer, choral clinician, and Community Sing leader trained by the late Alice Parker. You might know some folksongs that she’ll share with us, and you’ll definitely learn some new songs! It should be a meaningful and fun event! This event is for EVERYONE- all ages and musical skill levels! As Sarah says, “A Community Sing isn’t a rehearsal or a performance. There’s no audience, and there are no performers. It’s just an active music making experience for people, and you seem like a person to me!” Even if you think you sound like a dying cat when you sing, Sarah, Taylor, and I want you to be there, so let’s make a joyful noise unto the Lord all together!
