BUILDING RESERVE FUND
What are the benefits of a reserve fund?
And just as important,
This can be backed up with Biblical principles of saving and stewardship:
God owns everything: The Bible says He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He even owns the hills! We serve as His managers: Faithful stewards of the resources God entrusts to us, including finances. This is essential.
Planning and provision: Setting aside funds for future needs, like Joseph storing grain in Egypt. God was making a way for Joseph’s family to be saved from starvation. Planning and provision demonstrate foresight and wisdom.
Accountability: Accountability to God and each other is important for managing the church’s resources. Being generous. Bringing in offerings in addition to the tithe. But transparency and sound financial practices are also important.
Giving with a grateful heart: God loves a cheerful giver. Giving is an act of worship, reflecting gratitude for God’s blessings and a commitment to His work.
1. Financial stability: A reserve fund ensures our continued operation during dips in giving or unforeseen expenses, such as roof repair or, in our case, roof replacement.
2. Mission continuity: The fund allows RUMC to continue ministries and outreach programs without disruption, even during challenging financial times.
3. Strategic planning: It enables us to plan for the future, like funding new initiatives, capital projects, and expanding outreach efforts.
4. Emergency preparedness: It addresses urgent needs that arise unexpectedly, ensuring you a quick and effective response like plumbing problems or when an AC unit goes down with high 90’s temperatures.
And just as important,
5. Responsible stewardship: We demonstrate wise and responsible financial management, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the church.

PARTNERS IN EDUCATION (PIE)
Cathy Billlington
The PIE group is already in full swing this school year! We provided over 1,000 spiral notebooks to students attending the Catoosa Kids Day in July! We are so grateful to all of you that donated to this cause!
On August 16th, we helped sponsor our own Back to School Bash! Students from our sponsored elementary school and children from the community were invited to attend. Yummy food, an adorable petting zoo, and a refreshing water slide helped make the evening a success.
On August 24th, a prayer walk to all three of our sponsored schools took place following the Night of Belonging and Worship Service. Please continue to keep our teachers, staff, and students in your prayers this school year. Be sure to stop by and sign a prayer card on September 14th or 21st. These will be delivered to the teachers and staff ( along with a piece of chocolate) .
The RHS football team was fed a delicious Fazoli’s meal before their game on August 29th. We wish the Tigers a safe, fun, and winning season.
PIE will also be volunteering at the 12th annual Teen Maze on September 8th. This event, sponsored by the Catoosa Family Collaborative, is designed to educate 10th grade students about the consequences of drinking and driving, drug abuse, and teen pregnancy! If you are interested in volunteering or being a piece of the “PIE”, please reach out to Cathy Billington or Sally Ensley!

GAME NIGHTS
Kirsten Lankford
Game Nights will start back up on September 3rd! Game Nights are a time for our church children/youth to spend time together playing games and learning about Jesus. Children get to spend some time out on the playground, and youth get to spend some time in the gym. A snack will also be provided. They are every Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 pm.
Children will meet in the Wiggle Room (G-1), and youth will meet in the youth room and gym. We also need adult helpers to connect with the kids and keep them safe, so please reach out to Kirsten (kids) or Jamie (youth) if you are interested in helping. You can reach Kirsten at kirsten@ringgoldumc.org, and you can reach Jamie at jamie@ringgoldumc.org.

CPR TRAINING
Sally Ensley
RUMC will be hosting CPR training on Saturday morning, September 13th beginning at 9:30am The training will include basic CPR procedures with the use of a practice dummy for each person as well as training on the AED machine located close to our gym. The cost is $35 per person and we are hoping all church leaders, anyone working with a group, anyone working with children or older adults or any interested person will attend. Please sign up on the church app so the Training Company knows how much equipment to bring. While this is the same training that all groups teach, in an effort to keep our cost down, this training does not offer a Certification certificate.
Please consider attending this training. If you are not able to pay the $35 to attend but would still like to come, please see Sally.
