THE CHOSEN - MEN'S STUDY
Drew Sherrill
Men, don’t miss our new Bible study starting Wednesday, September 11th, from 6-7:30pm in the MPR. Over 8 or 9 weeks, we’ll explore “What It Means to Be Chosen” using The Chosen Season One as our guide. Each week, we’ll connect the episodes to scripture, with a special focus on Isaiah 43 and how it’s fulfilled in Jesus and His followers, including us.
This study is packed with scripture, quotes, and illustrations from the show, plus guiding questions for discussion. It’s a chance to dive deep into the Bible in a brand-new way. Click the link below to sign up to be part of this exciting new study. When you sign up you’ll be emailed a link to the study guide we’ll be using.
If you need help getting the book or have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at

Come and discover what it truly means to be chosen!

THE CHOSEN - WOMEN'S STUDY
Sally Ensley
Beginning Sunday, September 8th, all ladies of the church are invited to attend a women’s study of The Chosen. Last spring a large group of ladies met each week to watch an episode from Season one and then discuss it with the help of a study guide. This year, we will be viewing Season 2 and using the study guide to bring those the story and the scripture into our lives. The second season of The Chosen reminds viewers of the cost of following Christ and the inspiration that comes when we serve others with humility. You do not have to watch the first season before attending. Workbooks for the class can be purchased at Amazon for $9.00. The class will meet on Sunday nights beginning at 5:00pm.
NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS
Marty McGee
Are you new to RUMC or looking for a Sunday School class to join? Starting Sunday, September 8th at 10am in Room B5, we’re launching a new Sunday School class just for you! This class is perfect for anyone not currently in a class or for newcomers wanting to connect with others. We’ll kick off with a 6-week book and DVD study called Overcome - Living Beyond Our Circumstances. In addition to our regular lessons, we’ll use the four 5th Sundays each year for social gatherings to get to know each other better. We’ll also discuss other fellowship opportunities like dinners, dessert gatherings, or progressive dinners at multiple “host homes.” This class will be led by Marty McGee, and it’s a great opportunity to grow in faith and community. Mary has books available at a reduced price, or click here to order one yourself.
CARES ERT TRAINING
Lee Kay
We’re excited to host UMCOR’s Early Response Team (ERT) Training and ERT Recertification class on Saturday, September 14th from 9 am-4:30 pm in the MPR. Registration opens at 8:30 am, and we invite everyone to join us for this training.
ERT training equips volunteers to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters, offering a compassionate Christian presence to homeowners in need. This is an excellent opportunity to get certified and make a real difference in times of crisis. A suggested donation of $20 will cover lunch and course materials.
Space is limited to the first 20 people who sign up, so make sure to register ahead of time.
Email lee@ringgoldumc.org for more information. Sign up and become part of our disaster response team!

TEEN MAZE SERVE OPPORTUNITY
Cathy Billington
TEEN MAZE is a life-sized interactive role-play where students navigate stations that offer real life choices & risky behaviors such as drinking & driving, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, contracting an STD, and facing Juvenile Court! Along the path, health experts present information to help them handle the problems they might face as a result of their behaviors. Since paths are randomly assigned, no two students will have the same experience, much as in real life! The ultimate goal of TEEN MAZE is on-time high school graduation!
In this game, students are victims of chance and must experience whatever happens to them. TEEN MAZE is a four day event and 10th graders from several counties will participate. Students from Ringgold High School (our partner school) will be attending on Monday, September 9th.
Volunteer to serve at this event by signing up on the church app.
A t-shirt (same as last years if you already have one) and lunch are provided.
