Zephaniah 3:14-15
Passage
14 Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem! 15 The Lord has taken away the judgments against you; he has cleared away your enemies. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall never again fear evil.
Devotional
The prophet Zephaniah’s main theme is the coming of the day of the Lord. These verses are a part of the restoration of Israel’s remnant. Verse 14 (NIV) begins with the word sing, then mentions rejoice.
Verse 15 includes a line “the Lord, the King of Israel is with you”. This part of the verse has a personal meaning for our family. Jon has faced many health issues over the past 2 years and many times we would sing the For King and Country song “God is With Us”. This song was a comfort in the hospital, during tests, surgery and medical appointments.
This scripture reminds us we should sing, rejoice and know that God is with us every day.
